Our History

Laughing Birds grew out of a desire to get closer to birds after years of failed attempts to do so.
We thought that there might be some secret food or feeder or method that could bring us and
people closer to birds. What turned out to be the ‘secret’, was more simple. It came down to
having respect for the birds, a willingness to be patient and quiet while developing trust, and a
sense of caring that created a desire to provide the best for the birds’ health and safety.
By sticking to those core values – it became easier to know what to do – the birds started
developing trust, and the whole process became fun.
We chose to create a company that holds the same values for how we care for each other, our
partners and our environment. And we are growing the company by inviting people like you to
join us.
As our founder, Mark Roser says to the birds, we say to you: “Come on in…” We envision a world
in which we create our circles broad enough so that nobody has to stand outside.

Caring for the Birds

Songbirds populations in the US have been declining by
the billions for the past three decades. They need our
help. And when you begin to recognize individual birds
and get to know them by name, you don’t want to give
them food that may have been treated with pesticides.
You want the best for them. That is why all Laughing
Birds foods are purchased at human-grade quality, then
tested for pesticides, mycotoxins and other harmful
substances. No other bird seed manufacturer holds itself
to this standard.

We want the same good things for people that we want for birds. That is how we are creating this community.

Caring for the Environment

We continue to lose thousands of acres of habitat each year. The remaining habitat struggles under the weight of invasive plants and insects. Yes – each of us can do something to help. LB dedicates a portion of its sales to help restore habitat .
